Should you travel to Victoria Falls via Zimbabwe or Zambia? Recommendations have changed over the years: Zimbabwe used to be seen as the more luxurious border from which to see the Falls, but political conflicts there brought visitors through Zambia instead. Today, the current has swung once more, and Zimbabwe is the destination for those with a more extravagant travel budget. Zambia offers more affordable accommodations. From here, you can see the Falls from above and below and tour the surrounding city’s beautiful Victorian buildings and fun shops. Before settling on final arrangements, it is well worth taking stock of Zimbabwe’s political situation: Zambia is far more stable in that regard. No matter where you stay, you can view the Falls from both sides. During the day, you can pass through the border without a visa. Just make sure to cross back before the border closes for the evening!
