Eric Zinkann owner of Vault Collectibles, holds a Disney sign at his booth in the Lakeland Antique Mall in Lakeland. Zinkann is part of an exclusive club - sellers who can deal directly in collectible goods from Disney parks and hotels.

LAKELAND — If you can find a single detail Eric Zinkann understands, it can be how to turn a hobby into a significant financial gain.

Zinkann, 49, has been in the collectibles business enterprise because he was in the eighth grade. He typically collected comedian guides, finally starting to market them as a result of eBay and his web site, Vault Collectibles. And he would not particularly offer in pocket improve: He when bought a Batman comic for almost $100,000, bringing property an $80,000 income.

About 5 many years ago he expanded his variety, amassing props and items from the significant Orlando concept parks. He sells those objects at his booth in Lakeland Antique Shopping mall, just one that has been showcased on social media sites like Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube.

“I am not gonna be a millionaire overnight. But it is really enjoyment, and I believe which is what I’m searching to do sooner or later, is retire and do this and delight in myself,” Zinkann said. “Some men and women contact it 401K. It’ll be 401D, for Disney.”

Donna Guinn, a vendor at the Lakeland Antique Mall, also deals in Disney collectibles, but she gets hers mostly through flea markets. Collectible pins are her top seller.

Just outside of Walt Disney Globe, Polk County sellers like Zinkann deal in an odd, if flourishing, enterprise: the sale of authentic Disney furnishings and merchandise from the concept parks and resorts. The objects, acquired and offered by longtime Disney fanatics, appear directly from Disney.

Vendors say the field isn’t much too big but it truly is successful. Potential buyers have been recognized to agenda their Disney vacation about a vacation to a community vendor or vacation from a number of states absent to get their fingers on a lamp the moment employed at their preferred Disney lodge.
