We are back for Part 2 of this week’s Disneyland Merchandise Update! Included are Stitch goodies for your next picnic, even more items inspired by Turning Red, tons of fun toys, and some pieces of merchandise that arrived a bit later than anticipated (but we are still happy to see them!). Let’s take a look!

Check out part one of the Merchandise Update below:

Disneyland Merchandise Update: All That Shimmers

Hang Out with Stitch

It is starting to be the season for outdoor get-togethers. And Stitch has a great collection to help you throw a shindig and dress for the occasion, too!

Picnic Necessities

This large, extra-fluffy cushion has a handle, making it easier to tote the otherwise cumbersome item to its desired location. I would not be surprised to see these pop up around the parade route once the Main Street Electrical Parade returns on April 22.

And these swizzle sticks are perfect for tropical mixed drinks.

Apparel and Accessories

The blue tie-dye on this pullover hoodie slightly resembles waves. How fitting, then, that the art on the front and back includes Stitch against an ocean backdrop.

Even your pet can get in on the Stitch-themed fun with a pet shirt decorated with coordinating art and the phrase “‘Ohana means family.”

Turning Red is Still Turning Heads

The merchandise for Disney and Pixar’s latest film, Turning Red, has been popular, with some items, like the 4*Town band shirts, completely selling out. However, there are still plenty of other goodies for fans to purchase.

New nuiMOs and Other Playthings

The nuiMOs costumes released for April are called the “Princess Trend Collection.” Each of the five outfits is inspired by a different princess. Styles include Tiana (my favorite), Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, and Jasmine.

And building on the theme of strong women is the nuiMOs Female Empowerment Collection. I particularly like the outfit on the bottom-right, which brings Rosie the riveter to mind.

March brought nuiMOs fans two plushes, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from Zootopia. Both characters are impressively detailed but fans who dress up their nuiMOs should note that while Nick’s shirt is removable, Judy’s police uniform is printed right onto her body.

The floral theme from March’s Cottage Core Collection of outfits and accessories for nuiMOs is perfect for the start of Spring. Items from this collection include a picnic basket and blanket set, a white blouse with brown shorts and a straw hat, a floral dress with a flower crown, and a blue shirt with brown pants, suspenders, and fedora.

Toy Story’s anxious dinosaur Rex is the latest character to be added to the Big Feet plush line. His design translates especially well into the line’s style. I think he might be the cutest Big Feet plush yet.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update – Picnics, Pals & Playtime

Can I say how thrilled I am that Disney made a plush of Lucky the Pizza Dog? The lovable Golden Retriever is from the Disney+ series Hawkeye. And he comes with a slice of pizza attached to the pup’s tongue with velcro. Cuteness overload!

It is great to see Marvel plushes made of lesser-represented characters. Here’s hoping we’ll get a plush of Goose from Captain Marvel next.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update – Picnics, Pals & Playtime

These weighted plushes were originally sold on shopDisney and are slightly different in design than the emotional support weighted plushes released earlier at the Parks (they are also still available, although characters occasionally sell temporarily out of stock). These new plushes, while weighted, are not as heavy as the others (a bit less than 2 pounds versus 2.5 pounds). And because they have very little polyester fiberfill in their stomachs, they are very floppy.

An Easter-themed Miss Bunny Cuddleez plush is also now on sale. As you would gather from the name, Cuddleez plushes are especially great for cuddling, thanks to squishy stuffing and extra-soft fabric.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update – Picnics, Pals & Playtime

Last month’s Wishables series was themed to Muppet*Vision 3D. This series can still be found around the Disneyland Resort. The separately-sold plush is Kermit the frog and the mystery bag options are Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, and Sam Eagle. The chase design is a patriotic Sam Eagle with an American flag-themed getup.

The latest in the Disney Designer Collection of princess dolls to arrive at the Resort is Aurora. She was designed by Victoria Hamilton, who has a long history of developing merchandise for Disney Parks.

Better Late than Never

Planned as 2022’s monthly merchandise series, Mickey Mouse: The Main Attraction Collection (much like 2020’s Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction Collection) releases items themed to a different attraction each month. Mickey’s are based on Walt Disney World rides and January’s release is Space Mountain. But because of congested ports, some of the merchandise is only just now landing at the Disneyland Resort. On my visit, the Mickey plush and Ear Headband were in stock. The key and pin were already sold out                                                                                                                                                                           at the time and the Loungefly Mini Backpack had not yet arrived (they are now available, however).

Speaking of monthly collections, the last three plushes from 2021’s Stitch Crashes Disney Collection also arrived. October was Pocahontas, seen on the right. November was Peter Pan, found on the left. And in the middle is Mulan, created for December.

Initially created for the last year’s holiday season, the Christmas Tree Groot plush is made in a cartoony style and has light-up elements.

Odds & Ends

There’s even more new merchandise to explore!

If you prefer to wear more functional headwear, there are some new options in that department, too.

Star Wars blends with a tropical theme for a bucket hat with the Rebel Alliance emblem and the title “Rebel Leader” printed on the front.

And these two hats, one for adults and another for kids, are from the Play in the Park Collection.

Loungefly

In terms of new Loungefly items, you’ll find two Mini Backpacks: a new Minnie Mouse-inspired style and one decorated with a print full of Olaf and Bruni from Frozen 2.

There’s also a Loungefly zippered wallet featuring a print with different images from Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. A white version of the wallet (with a matching Mini Backpack) was released previously.

Drinkware

Whether you plan on enjoying a piping hot latte or a refreshing iced tea, Disney is here to help keep your beverage at the desired temperature with their new insulated drinkware.

The Original Mickey Travel Tumbler is a standard shape and would fit easily into your car’s cupholder.

And get a handle on your water consumption habits with this strapped water bottle. Its only embellishment is a graphic professing “J’adore Mickey” or “I love Mickey” in French.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update – Picnics, Pals & Playtime

A bunch of new kid-sized water bottles has also landed on shelves. Each one is decorated with a wraparound design featuring a different character (or characters, in some cases). Choose from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Frozen 2 (don’t worry, Anna fans – she is on the other side of the bottle), a general Disney Princess style (Ariel, Aurora, Mulan, Moana, and Cinderella), Toy Story, and Grogu from The Mandalorian.

Sweet Loungefly Accessories

I have a massive sweet tooth and I must not be the only one if these treat-themed items from Loungefly are any indication. The designer has more than a baker’s dozen of new designs and they are making my mouth water. Some of the items are made in their cosplay style (where the item looks like something else), such as the Mickey Mouse Sprinkle Cupcake Cosplay Mini Backpack and the Marie Sprinkle Cupcake Cosplay Mini Backpack, and others use an allover print, like the Disney Princess Cake Mini Backpack.

Beyond Mini Backpacks, there are also dessert-inspired crossbody bags. It is a charming design concept that builds on the original theme. And they are full of sweet details. For example, the Snow White Cake Cosplay Crossbody Bag has an apple for a zipper pull.
