Jamaica is a small island in the Caribbean Sea that is well known its sports and music and is often frequented by tourists. Jamaica has also been called ‘Land of Springs’ and has a 10,990 square kilometers area and a tropical climate. The country is blessed with several scenic places and marvelous natural wonders. Here is an overview some of Jamaica’s favorite tourist attractions.

Visiting Dunn’s River Falls is a must do for any tourist in Jamaica. This world famous waterfall in Ocho Rios drops down to a beach from a 600 foot height. Many daring people climb to the top of the falls. Several Jamaican rivers offer exiting rafting experiences. Enjoy rafting and tubing down the White River in Ocho Rios, the Rio Grande River and Martha Brae River in Montego Bay on a bamboo raft. Conduct a scenic tour up the Mystic Mountain in Ocho Rios to get a marvelous view of the coastline and go for various activities like water sliding or bobsledding, or enjoy a luxurious Jamaica meal.

Dolphin Cove is perhaps the most well known tourist attraction in Jamaica and as the name indicates, it is where one can swim and play with dolphins. Ocho Rios and Negril Dolphin Cove both offer this overwhelming experience. Greenwood Great House is an important historic site and allows visitors the chance to explore one of the finest plantation homes of 1800s. The fascinating Cool Blue tour to the island’s interior has a lot of beautiful scenery including a lagoon with magnificent blue waters, woods, rivers to dive in and waterfalls to climb.

Enjoy drinking rum, dining and watching the glorious sunsets at Rick’s CafĂ© at the seven-mile beach in Negril. If you dare, go for some cliff diving. Jamaica beaches are well known for being relaxing and South Coast’s Treasure beach, Negril beach and Montego Bay beach are particularly famous. The scenic Lover’s Leap is located 1,000 feet above sea and is another popular site in the South coast, especially for hikers. Enjoy a round of golf in one of Jamaica’s several famed golf courses at Cinnamon Hill Golf Course in Rose Hall, Country Club, Breezes course at Runaway Bay and many in Montego Bay.

Port Antonio, Kingston, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay have many famous dives with coral reefs which are ideal for scuba diving. Jamaica is known for deep sea fishing and horseback riding in resort areas.
