New offer could spoil Frontier-Spirit merger

JetBlue Airways, the New York-based carrier acknowledged for its inflight Tv lineup, absolutely free Wi-Fi and trendy treats, has manufactured an unsolicited $3.6 billion offer to acquire no-frills airline Spirit.

JetBlue explained late Tuesday that the proposal is “superior” to the merger deal amongst Spirit and Frontier announced in February and is the “most desirable opportunity” for Spirit’s shareholders.

The offer could thwart Spirit and Frontier’s effectively-laid options to create a price range airline powerhouse that will be ready to far better compete with American, Delta, United and Southwest airlines.

JetBlue is generating a similar pitch about a JetBlue-Spirit combination and states it brings some thing further to the table for Spirit travellers: its beloved inflight benefits and services.
