No. 17 Hokies vacation to facial area Flames in midweek tilt

BLACKSBURG – Coming off of a collection sweep from Wake Forest, No. 17 Virginia Tech baseball is prepping to confront Liberty on Tuesday in a midweek matchup with the sport becoming broadcasted on ESPN+.

The Hokies (19-9, 14-7 ACC) and Flames (21-8, 8-1 ASUN) will fulfill for the 1st time since March 26, 2019. Tech qualified prospects the all-time series 40-28 and Liberty is 3-2 in the final five conferences.

Freshman Gavin Cross was identified this week as the Atlantic Coastline Conference Player of the Week pursuing his remarkable performances on the street in opposition to ETSU and Wake Forest.

The matchup will be broadcast on ESPN+, with Alan York (enjoy-by-enjoy) and Mark Warner (analyst) on the phone all weekend, although Bryant Johnson will broadcast on Virginia Tech Athletics Network.

The Hokies went undefeated in Winston-Salem towards the Demon Deacons. Tech hit six residence runs on Saturday and 10 on the weekend, the most in college background. Peyton Alford, Anthony Simonelli and Chris Gerard all had outstanding outings for the Hokies.

Gavin Cross went 6-for-14 on the weekend with two home operates and had an extra-foundation strike in all three game titles.  

Player TO Look at

Gavin Cross was not too long ago named ACC Participant of the Week right after a standout effectiveness versus ETSU and Wake Forest. The freshman strike for the cycle on Tuesday versus the Buccaneers and batted .500 (10-for-20) in his final four games and currently leads the ACC in batting regular (.400).
